About Goa

Goa from Bengaluru or Hyderabad is an overnight bus and a completely different week. Group departures skew south — Palolem, Agonda, Patnem — where the beaches are quieter and the shacks close at a reasonable hour, with a day trip north for Fontainhas, Anjuna's flea market and Chapora fort. Dudhsagar is the other half of the itinerary: a jeep ride through Bhagwan Mahavir sanctuary to a 310 m four-tier waterfall that the Vasco–Londa railway crosses on a stone viaduct. **Getting there.** Overnight sleeper bus from Bengaluru (11–12 hours) or Hyderabad (13 hours); trains run to Madgaon from both. **Where to stay.** Beach huts and hostels in Palolem, Agonda and Patnem; Anjuna and Vagator if the group prefers the north.
