Plan The Unplanned curates treks and backpacking trips across South India and the Himalayas, built around the idea that a first-timer and a seasoned trekker should be able to share the same bus. Departures run every weekend from Bengaluru, with fixed group sizes and a captain-to-traveller ratio they publish on every trip page.

✫ 4 · Great trip, long drive
The destination and the organisation were both excellent. Only gripe is the overnight drive — bring a neck pillow and don't expect much sleep on the ghat road.
✫ 4 · Solid weekend break
Good balance of activity and downtime. Rooms were basic but clean. The bonfire night was the highlight — everyone actually talked instead of staring at phones.
✫ 5 · First trek and I survived
I had never trekked before and was nervous about the difficulty rating. The pace was patient, breaks were frequent, and someone stayed with the slowest group the whole way up.
✫ 4 · Good value, slightly large group
Twenty-eight people is a lot for a small hill station. Everything ran on time and the stay was comfortable, but I'd pick a smaller departure next time.
